Three Days of Happiness

I'm so happy! Someone loves my blog. I had love reading her blog as well. Plus...

I had a fantastic weekend. Fantastic! I did not have to think about work once, which has not been the norm the last few months. I took Friday off and not once did I think about who was saying what or what emails were being sent out while I was off. It was so refreshing.

We took a three day weekend and went to the cabin and sat around all weekend while it rained and rained and rained and it was so relaxing. We would find shelter during the rain storms and the minute it stopped we would head back outside and sit by a fire. The kids watched a ton of movies and then went to play in the mud. There was an incident where Jordan was stung by about a dozen hornets. I wasn't down the hill during this time, but the story is pretty exciting and he'll be sure to talk about it for at least the next few months. Luckily, we were able to slather him with some cream and give him a dose of Benadryl and they don't look too bad. He was very lucky.

The only thing missing this weekend was football. We didn't watch any football, except Sunday night we watched part of the Steelers game. This also means I missed Riley's game. I heard they won but I'm not sure of the score. I just realized that I looked up the scores to all the other games I was interested in and not Riley's. I'm the worse mom in the world! I can't believe that. Okay, I don't really believe that, but it's still weird. I looked up Denver Broncos, they won. I didn't end up seeing the end of the Steelers game, but they won. I looked up the Bears because Jillian always asks if the Bears won. She also asked about the Oregon Ducks now, I had to look that up this morning so I could tell her because I had no idea. They did win their last game. Thank God, because she gets really upset when they lose and she yells at me.

Other than that not much going on. Jillian is off her binkie so now she talks. A lot. About a lot of silly things. I'm sure you'll have to read about some of those silly things. I just don't want to forget.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

4 Checks, 1 Survey, and an Order Form Later...

We finally had the kids dropped off and we were on our way to work. This morning was crazy! It's usually crazy trying to get so many kids ready for the day, but this morning was especially insane.

We had to make sure everyone had lunch money. I forgot Jordan had his pictures today. It was pay daycare day. Brian was suppose to fill out a survey for Jordan's school and return it today, we ended up doing that in car. And Jillian was yelling that she needed money too when I was handing out the lunch money. Agh!

Now I'm at work and I'm thinking about the rest of the week and boy we are busy! I don't even want to think about it. It's stressing me out. I have Friday off but that seems so far away.

Good news is I had a pretty good day at work on Friday. I had some meetings and everything just seemed to flow nicely. Which is good because it's easier to enjoy a weekend when work is left at work.

I was suppose to get my hair done this weekend. My hair lady called and cancelled Saturday morning which sort of worked out okay because Riley's football game was rescheduled for a later time and I had made my appointment based on the original time. Meaning, I would have had to miss his game. Which I hate to miss games. Because I'm pretty sure the kids keep score. I don't know from very much experience, but they notice.

Anyway, my hair appointment was cancelled and while it is okay for the above reason, it kind of sucks because my hair looks awful and since I'll be gone next weekend I have to have a cut and color during the week. Which makes things even more stressful. And the reason my hair cut was cancelled really sucks for my hair girl. She got a DUI and while I'm not one to feel sorry for DUI offenders, I feel bad she has to deal with all of this. She's my friend and she doesn't need this.

Okay, I'm done rambling. I have a cold and nothing seems to make sense. Have a great week!

When you say football are you also talking about soccer?

I went to all my games this weekend. I survived Saturday, but just barely. Brian had to work this weekend so it gets crazy hauling the four kids around. But my mood has greatly improved. That's a good sign.

First was Riley's football game. He's in a different league this year because, I think I may have mentioned that I missed the deadline for the other league and he was mad at me for like, two seconds. Anyway, I like this league better. I can't say why exactly, but I do. It might have to do with the fact that they have heavy weights and light weights and when your kid happens to be a light weight, you don't exactly want him playing with the heavy weights. Who knows.

I was telling Brian this morning that it's difficult for me to watch little league football. I can't tell what the heck is going on. It takes me forever to figure out if they're playing offense or defense and by the time I figure it out they switch! Oh well, Riley loves football. I feel like I've been discouraging him from playing. He told me the other day that next year he's going to start focusing on baseball. Which is what I've been pushing for but...he should play what he wants. I shouldn't be a pusher.

Next Jordan and Darby had soccer games. It actually worked out perfectly because Jordan's game was first and ended about the time Darby's game started. I didn't have to miss any one's game. I did have to take Jillian to her grandma's because the soccer games coincided with her nap time and we don't want the Jilly Bean to miss a nap. Seriously. They did pretty good. This is Jordan's first year of soccer so he's just getting used to it. There's more running than there was in football or baseball. He's doing good though. He was goalie and no one scored on him, pretty impressive.

Darby is a pretty good little soccer player. She's a very competitive girl so that works for her in soccer. She's on a team with some older girls which I think will help her improve her game. They're pretty good. Her team won 8-1. The first two goals were made during the first minute of the game. It seemed like the other team was just standing there. Our poor goalies didn't have much work to do! It was still a fun game to watch.

I also watched Sunday Night Football. I like football. I didn't always like it, but ever since Riley explained it to me I'm hooked. So, it was the Bears vs. the Colts (or Colts vs. Bears, I don't know if it matters) and I'm cheering for the Bears because I'm not a Colts fan. I don't have reasons except Brian and Riley don't like Peyton. The teams had little patches on their jerseys that said GU 63 and I pointed them out to Brian. I didn't know why they were wearing them. It happened to be a Colts player that I pointed out and Brian suggested maybe someone on their team was injured. I said it could be but the Cubs have them on their jerseys too. That's right I called the Bears, Cubs! I'm still new at this. Besides. There is a Cubs team. They're just baseball. I think. Anyway, I now know what the GU 63 was for. No worries.

Busy Bee

I feel like it's been forever since I posted. But it hasn't. There was that three day weekend. I didn't get on the computer once over the Labor Day weekend. I didn't have access to the computer because we spent Friday night, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday morning at the cabin. In the mountains. I even missed the first BSU game, but I wasn't too disappointed. They won 49-7. I knew it wouldn't even be close. Those games aren't very fun to watch anyway.

I'm not so stressed about work. I don't know why exactly, not much has changed but I don't feel like I'm going to die if I have to be here. That's a nice feeling.

My Jillian is just as cute as ever. Almost every thing she says is funny. Only because she's 2 1/2. If she was 13, it wouldn't be so cute. In fact, when the 8 year olds say the things she says, not funny. Not cute. It's just a conversation. Like yesterday she told me how pretty my necklace was and that it would be "perfect for me". And the other morning I was walking out of the bathroom and she held up her teddy bear and told me, "oh God, he puked." I love it.

And sports season is here again. And I love the craziness and the practices and the uniforms and getting ready for games. So, I think this has all improved my mood because when it comes right down to it, work doesn't matter. I'm not saying that I will allow myself to be miserable at work, because that does matter considering I spend a substantial part of my day at work, but right now it doesn't matter. And I hope to find a happiness in work and I hope things change, but if it doesn't I will have to change things for myself. Right now, I have to help three kids juggle school, sports and some play time.
